Methods Totally 63 caries children who visited the department of stomatology of Shenzhen children's hospital between January and July 2021 were divided into a control group(n=32) and an intervention group(n=31), according to a random number table. During the dental treatment, both groups were given routine behavior management, while the intervention group was additionally provided with self-help cognitive behavioral therapy. Then, both groups were evaluated using the children's fear survey schedule-dental subscale (CFSS-DS) and Venham clinical anxiety rating scale. Results Significant differences were in the CFSS-DS scores of the two groups in terms of the intergroup effect(Fintergroup=25.893, P<0.001). Moreover, the cooperation of the intervention group was significantly better than that of the control group(Z=3.594, P<0.001). Conclusion Self-help cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively relieve dental anxiety of young children and improve their cooperation during dental treatment. Therefore, it is worth application in the clinical practice.]]> <![CDATA[The effect of stage resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing on stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome]]> Objective To explore the effect of phased resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) fumigation and washing on stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome. Methods Totally 70 stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome at Anyang district hospital in Puyang city between January 2022 and May 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and a research group, each of 35, according to a random number table. Both groups received stage resistance training, while the research group was additionally provided with TCM fumigation and washing for a month. Then, both groups were evaluated using the visual analogue scale (VAS), shoulder-hand syndrome scale (SHSS), modified Barthel index (MBI) and Fugl-Meyer assessment of the upper extremity (FMA-UE). Moreover, the clinical efficacy, the level of bradykinin (BK), substance P (SP), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), endothelin-1(ET-1) and nitric oxide (NO) were observed. Results After one-month intervention, the total clinical effective rate of the research group(94.29%) was significantly higher than that of the control group(71.43%). The MBI and FMA-UE scores, CGRP and NO levels of the research group were significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05 for all), while the VAS and SHSS score, as well as the ET-1, BK and SP levels were significantly lower than the latter (P<0.05 for all). Conclusion The phased resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing can enhance the shoulder function of stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome, alleviate their pain, promote the elimination of local swelling and functional recovery.]]> <![CDATA[Influence of acupoint massage combined with renal exercises on negative emotions and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure]]> Objective To explore the effect of acupoint massage combined with renal exercises on negative emotions and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods A total of 80 CRF patients admitted between October 2020 and October 2022 were selected, and divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 40, according to a random number table. Both groups received routine hemodialysis and nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with acupoint pressure and kidney exercises for 3 months. Before and after the intervention, both groups were evaluated the negative emotion, fatigue, sleep and life quality using the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), fatigue scale-14 (FS-14) and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), as well as the generic quality of life inventory 74 (GQOLI-74). Results After 3-month intervention, the SAS, SDS, FS-14、PSQI scores of the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group(t=9.074, P<0.001; t=8.535, P<0.001; t=7.946, P<0.001; t=4.642, P<0.001). However, the scores of social function, physical health, mental health and material life dimension in GQOLI-74 were significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-5.463, P<0.001; t=-4.746, P<0.001; t=-6.215, P<0.001; t=-8.690, P<0.001). Conclusion Acupoint massage combined with kidney exercise can relieve negative emotions and fatigue of CRF patients, and improve their sleep and life quality.]]> <![CDATA[Effects of mindfulness-based stress reduction on mental resilience and post-traumatic growth of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization]]> Objective To explore the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction on mental resilience and post-traumatic growth of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization (TACE). Methods Ninety liver cancer patients undergoing TACE between May 2020 and May 2022 were selected, and divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 45, according to a random number table. Both groups were given routine nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with mindfulness-based stress reduction for six weeks. Before and after 6-week intervention, both groups were evaluated using the Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC) and the posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI). Results After 6-week intervention, the scores of CD-RISC and PTGI of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-4.574, P<0.001; t=-4.424, P<0.001). Conclusion Mindfulness-based stress reduction can effectively improve the psychological resilience of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization and promote their post-traumatic growth.]]>
