Methods The caregivers of 252 stroke survivors hospitalized in the neurology ward of a grade-A tertiary hospital in Henan province between June and September 2022 were selected using the convenient sampling method, and surveyed using the caregiver preparedness scale (CPS), caregiver strain index (CSI), mutuality scale (MS), and the caregiver self-efficacy in contributing to patient self-care scale(CSE-CSC). Results The score of CSI was (9.12±2.13) point, negatively correlated to the CPS, CSE-CSC and MS scores (20.59±2.12, 74.53±5.25, 39.08±2.96; r=-0.655, -0.585, -0.548, P<0.01 for all). Moreover, the CPS score was positively correlated to the CSE-CSC and MS scores(r=0.750, 0.631, P<0.01 for both). Caregiver readiness had direct effect on their caregiving stress, or indirect effect through the self-efficacy, mutuality and their chain mediating effect, with the affecting values of -0.092, -0.070 and -0.039. Conclusion Self-efficacy and mutuality play a chain mediating role between caregiving readiness and caregiving stress. Therefore, medical staff should provide targeted education and guidance to help caregivers to adapt actively to their roles, and develop mutuality-centered intervention to reduce their stress efficiently.]]> <![CDATA[Meta-analysis of effects of ice stimulation therapy on thirst intervention of critically ill patients]]> Objective To systematically evaluate the intervention effect of ice stimulation therapy on thirst of critically ill patients. Methods Databases including the PubMed,CINAHL, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biology Medicine, Wanfang and VIP database were searched to collect the literatures on the intervention effect of ice stimulation therapy on thirst of critically ill patients with the time setting from the establishment to March 31, 2023. Two researchers screened the literature according to the literature inclusion and exclusion criteria, and extracted the data. Then RevMan 5.4 software was used for Meta-analysis. Results Ten studies involving 1 117 patients were included. Meta-analysis showed that ice stimulation therapy could alleviate thirst [MD=-2.867,95%CI(-4.102,-1.632),P<0.001] and dry mouth [SMD=-1.449,95%CI(-1.658,-1.240),P<0.001], improve the saliva pH value[MD=0.922,95%CI(0.824,1.021),P<0.001]. However, such intervention could not relieve the pain of thirst [SMD=-1.481,95%CI(-2.391,-0.571),P=0.050]. Conclusion Ice stimulation therapy can relieve the thirst and dry mouth of critically ill patients, and improve their saliva PH value. Such therapy is worthy further studying and applying.]]> <![CDATA[Effects of self-help cognitive behavioral therapy on anxiety and cooperation of young children with caries]]> Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of self-help cognitive behavioral therapy in relieving anxiety and improving cooperation of young children with caries during dental treatment. Methods Totally 63 caries children who visited the department of stomatology of Shenzhen children's hospital between January and July 2021 were divided into a control group(n=32) and an intervention group(n=31), according to a random number table. During the dental treatment, both groups were given routine behavior management, while the intervention group was additionally provided with self-help cognitive behavioral therapy. Then, both groups were evaluated using the children's fear survey schedule-dental subscale (CFSS-DS) and Venham clinical anxiety rating scale. Results Significant differences were in the CFSS-DS scores of the two groups in terms of the intergroup effect(Fintergroup=25.893, P<0.001). Moreover, the cooperation of the intervention group was significantly better than that of the control group(Z=3.594, P<0.001). Conclusion Self-help cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively relieve dental anxiety of young children and improve their cooperation during dental treatment. Therefore, it is worth application in the clinical practice.]]> <![CDATA[The effect of stage resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing on stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome]]> Objective To explore the effect of phased resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) fumigation and washing on stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome. Methods Totally 70 stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome at Anyang district hospital in Puyang city between January 2022 and May 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and a research group, each of 35, according to a random number table. Both groups received stage resistance training, while the research group was additionally provided with TCM fumigation and washing for a month. Then, both groups were evaluated using the visual analogue scale (VAS), shoulder-hand syndrome scale (SHSS), modified Barthel index (MBI) and Fugl-Meyer assessment of the upper extremity (FMA-UE). Moreover, the clinical efficacy, the level of bradykinin (BK), substance P (SP), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), endothelin-1(ET-1) and nitric oxide (NO) were observed. Results After one-month intervention, the total clinical effective rate of the research group(94.29%) was significantly higher than that of the control group(71.43%). The MBI and FMA-UE scores, CGRP and NO levels of the research group were significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05 for all), while the VAS and SHSS score, as well as the ET-1, BK and SP levels were significantly lower than the latter (P<0.05 for all). Conclusion The phased resistance training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing can enhance the shoulder function of stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome, alleviate their pain, promote the elimination of local swelling and functional recovery.]]> <![CDATA[Influence of acupoint massage combined with renal exercises on negative emotions and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure]]> Objective To explore the effect of acupoint massage combined with renal exercises on negative emotions and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods A total of 80 CRF patients admitted between October 2020 and October 2022 were selected, and divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 40, according to a random number table. Both groups received routine hemodialysis and nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with acupoint pressure and kidney exercises for 3 months. Before and after the intervention, both groups were evaluated the negative emotion, fatigue, sleep and life quality using the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), fatigue scale-14 (FS-14) and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), as well as the generic quality of life inventory 74 (GQOLI-74). Results After 3-month intervention, the SAS, SDS, FS-14、PSQI scores of the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group(t=9.074, P<0.001; t=8.535, P<0.001; t=7.946, P<0.001; t=4.642, P<0.001). However, the scores of social function, physical health, mental health and material life dimension in GQOLI-74 were significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-5.463, P<0.001; t=-4.746, P<0.001; t=-6.215, P<0.001; t=-8.690, P<0.001). Conclusion Acupoint massage combined with kidney exercise can relieve negative emotions and fatigue of CRF patients, and improve their sleep and life quality.]]> <![CDATA[Effects of mindfulness-based stress reduction on mental resilience and post-traumatic growth of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization]]> Objective To explore the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction on mental resilience and post-traumatic growth of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization (TACE). Methods Ninety liver cancer patients undergoing TACE between May 2020 and May 2022 were selected, and divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 45, according to a random number table. Both groups were given routine nursing, while the observation group was additionally provided with mindfulness-based stress reduction for six weeks. Before and after 6-week intervention, both groups were evaluated using the Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC) and the posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI). Results After 6-week intervention, the scores of CD-RISC and PTGI of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group(t=-4.574, P<0.001; t=-4.424, P<0.001). Conclusion Mindfulness-based stress reduction can effectively improve the psychological resilience of liver cancer patients after transcatheter artery chemoembolization and promote their post-traumatic growth.]]> <![CDATA[Effects of Baduan jin exercise combined with five elements music therapy on psychological status and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure]]> Objective To explore the effect of Baduan jin exercise combined with five elements music therapy on psychological status and fatigue of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods Seventy-five CRF patients treated in our hospital between July 2021 and August 2022 were selected and divided into a five elements music group, a Baduan jin group and a comprehensive intervention group, each of 25, according to a random number table. All groups received routine nursing, the five elements music group additionally received music therapy while the Baduan jin group and the comprehensive intervention group additionally performed Baduan jin exercise and Baduan jin exercise + five elements music therapy, respectively. Then, all groups were evaluated anxiety, depression, fatigue and sleep quality using the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), self-rating depression scale(SDS), Piper fatigue revised scale(PFS-R) and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). Results After 6 months of intervention, significant differences were observed in the SAS, SDS, PFS-R and PSQI scores among the 3 groups(F=40.461, P<0.001; F=57.174, P<0.001; F=118.690, P<0.001; F=151.404, P<0.001). To be more specific, the SAS, SDS, PFS-R scores and PSQI of the comprehensive intervention group were significantly lower than that of the other 2 groups(all P<0.05). Conclusion Practicing Baduan jin exercise combined with five elements music therapy can improve the relieve anxiety and depression of CRF patients, reduce their fatigue and improve their sleep quality.]]> <![CDATA[The effect of health education based on LEARNS model on self-care and life quality of patients with maintenance hemodialysis]]> Objective To explore the effect of health education based on the LEARNS model on self-care and life quality of patients with hemodialysis. Methods Totally 121 maintenance hemodialysis patients from November 2022 to February 2023 were randomly divided into an intervention group(n=61) and a control group(n=60). The control group received routine health education, while the intervention group was given health education using the LEARNS model. Results After the intervention,the total score of self-care ability, self-care responsibility and self-care skills in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group(t=-2.269,P=0.025;t=-2.121,P=0.036;t=-2.381,P=0.019),but the scores of all dimensions of short form 36 health survey questionnaire(SF-36) were significantly higher than the latter(all P<0.001). Conclusion Compared with conventional intervention, the LEARNS model can better improve the self-care ability and quality of life of maintenance hemodialysis patients, and it is worth promoting and applying.]]> <![CDATA[The influence of group psychological counseling on mental resilience, self-efficacy and psychological stress of trained nurses]]> <![CDATA[Analysis of risk factors for recurrent vertebral fractures in elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures]]> Objective To assess the incidence of recurrent vertebral fractures in elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures after discharge, and explore its risk factors. Methods The hospitalization data and follow-up data of elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF) who were hospitalized in a grade-A tertiary hospital in Guangzhou in 2021 were retrospectively collected. According to whether there was a recurrent vertebral fracture, all patients were divided into a recurrent group and a non-recurrent group. Then the univariate and binary logistic regression analyses were performed. Results A total of 156 patients were included, 55 had a refracture, amounting to an incidence of 35.26%. According to the binary logistic regression analysis, elderly age, hypertension and diabetes history, no anti-osteoporosis medication and no anti-slip measures were risk factors of the recurrence(P<0.05). Conclusion Elderly patients with initial vertebral fractures due to osteoporosis are prone to recurrent vertebral fractures. Targeted care should be given to older patients, patients with hypertension or diabetes mellitus, and the importance of osteoporosis treatment and anti-slip measures after discharge from hospital should be emphasized to reduce the risk of recurrent vertebral fractures.]]> <![CDATA[The status quo of psychological flexibility in postoperative breast cancer patients and its influencing factors]]> Objective To investigate the status quo of postoperative breast cancer patients and analyze its influencing factors. Methods A total of 190 postoperative breast cancer patients admitted to the hospital between January 2021 and February 2023 were selected, and investigated using a general condition questionnaire, comprehensive assessment of acceptance and commitment therapy processes(CompACT), self-rating anxiety scale(SAS), and family intimacy and adaptability and cohesion evaluation scale Ⅱ(FACES-Ⅱ). Results The CompACT score was (82.98±8.76) point. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that marital status, family per capita monthly income, anxiety, family intimacy and adaptability were independent influencing factors of the PFCQ score (R2=0.680, R2=0.672, F=85.162, P<0.001). Conclusion The psychological flexibility of postoperative breast cancer patients is not above the average.
